Director View

Overview

To make creating slideshows even easier, Photokeeper comes with a Director View. The Director view allows you to preview all the slides in your slideshow without having to page through each slide individually. From this view you can also choose which effects are used between each slide, the Soundtrack or Playlist to play, and can control whether or not the slide is included in the slideshow.

To use Slide Effects or soundtracks in your slideshow, simply drag and drop the desired effect, soundtrack or Playlist from the side list. The top of these lists is the slide effects list, the second is the soundtracks list, and the bottom one is the playlists list.

To change the properties or more than one slide, simply select multiple slides and change the properties of one of the highlighted slides. The properties for all the selected slides will be changed at the same time. To select more than one slide at a time, simply hold the CTRL key down and left click the slides you would like to select. The same can be achieved for multiple songs in a playlist.

Layout

When Photokeeper is in Director View, the main pane is split into two sub-panes.

The top pane displays the list of slides in your slideshow, along with a number of controls allowing you to select the slide transition effects, Playlists, Soundtracks, duration, and whether or not the slide is included in the slideshow.

The bottom pane displays the list of Playlist tracks in a particular playlist. The current playlist is selected with a control near the top of this sub-pane. For each soundtrack you can select in and out crossfade effects, and the volume for the soundtrack.

Photokeeper can only fully display one or the other sub-pane at one time (unless you have a very large monitor). To switch between sub-panes, simply click on either the “Edit Slides” or “Edit Playlists” button on the Bottom Toolbar. Alternatively, pressing SPACEBAR will toggle the sub-pane to and from Slides and Playlists.

Usage

The simplest way to use the Director View is to drag and drop Soundtracks, Playlists, and Slide Effects from the Outlook Control to the Director View’s main panes.

You can also reorder playlist tracks by dragging them to their new positions.

Specifying a slide duration of zero does not advance the slide until the user clicks either the left mouse button, presses SPACEBAR, or uses another command or shortcut to advance to the next slide.
